Our Story
Paul Theut, Lawrence (“Larry”) Scaringelli, Jennifer (“Jen”), and Stephen (“Steve”) Kupiszewski have been friends and colleagues for decades. Paul and Steve met in the late 1980s as young attorneys. Larry and Jen began practicing in the 1990’s. Their paths crossed many times over the years, and they learned they shared a vision for the practice of law and the care of clients. In 2003, Steve was appointed to the Superior Court Bench and served as a Superior Court Commissioner for ten years. Paul, Larry, and Jennifer continued their private practices at various firms they founded or cofounded. Jen and Steve married in 2009. Paul still says it was the most fun wedding he’s ever attended. Steve returned to private practice in 2013 to practice with his wife. All four continued their litigation practices in the areas of guardianship and conservatorship, financial exploitation, estate and trust disputes, and estate and trust administration, often as opposing counsel in contested matters.
To Paul’s great joy, his son, James, graduated from law school and went into practice with him. After decades of friendship, Paul and Larry merged their practices- this was seamless, as Larry had known James since he was a teenager. Shortly after, Jen and Steve merged their practice with them to form Theut, Scaringelli & Kupiszewski P.L.C.
The attorneys share a vision of practicing law to help families during challenging times. A vision of a solution-focused practice in which clients feel cared for and listened to while receiving legal advice developed over many years in the courtroom. During difficult times, clients often need guidance and reassurance. The combined experience of Paul, Larry Jen, and Steve provides clients with a tremendous knowledge base. This knowledge base serves as a great advantage to our clients when developing a plan to solve the legal problem the client is facing.
Our firm focuses on all aspects of Arizona probate matters, from minor probates and simple guardianships to complex estate, conservatorship, and trust litigation, and estate and trust administration and planning for large and modest estates.
Theut Scaringelli & Kupiszewski P.L.C. is able to leverage the experience of all five attorneys, who focus their practice solely on Arizona probate and related matters, for the benefit of their clients.
